Three Bollywood Chick Flicks To Watch Before Veere Di Wedding | Entertainment

Rhea Kapoor and her veeres, aka Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania, are painting the town red with their film promotions and we are loving it. Apart from the fashion inspiration , we are loving (some of) the songs and we are excited to see not just Bebo back on the screen (post Taimur) but also webseries heartthrob Sumeet Vyas romancing her.

Before you plan a trip to the theatres with your girl gang for Veere Di Wedding, here are some other gems from Bollywood to get you in the mood for a lot of onscreen BFF love. Also side note, considering the too few Bollywood films which focus on female friendships, can we have some more of these please? How about starting with Zoya Akhtar making an all-girls version of Dil Chahta Hai?

In the meantime…

1. Aisha

The Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol starrer may have had a terrible run at the box-office but it was fun to watch. The clothes, the makeover, the shopping trips and the friendships… everything made for an entertaining two-hour watch. Special mention for getting to see Abhay in an unconventional role and also the songs were lovely. This one’s sure to put you in a good mood.

2. Queen

The film that pretty much established Kangana Ranaut as the queen of Bollywood, Queen is a perfect coming-of-age story of a girl who was all set to get married till her fiancé broke it off, and she went on her honeymoon, all alone. This film was largely responsible for finally giving solo travelling enthusiasts a perfect motivation to just pack their bags, and go!

3. Cocktail

Romance, heartbreak, laughter… this story about two women falling in love with the same man has a mix of everything. Focusing largely on Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty’s growing friendship, the film explores different shades of their equation. While we would have been happier if the end didn’t cater to Bollywood’s favourite stereotype of the hero choosing the girl in the sari as opposed to the girl in the LBD, the fun bits are exactly what you need for a binge-watch with the girls.

So that’s your list; grab that bottle of wine and go.
