The Fitness Campaign, which was started on social media by Union Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore, was joined by Army personnel and Bollywood celebrities at an event in Delhi.
The event was organised at Central Park in Connaught Place, Delhi, and was packed with hundreds of people. The event started late in the evening and won accolades from the audience.
Army personnel showcased their talent of yoga, martial arts and gymnastics, on the tunes of Bollywood songs. To uplift the moral of Army personnel and general public, Bollywood celebrities including Suniel Shetty, Gul Panag and Milind Soman shared the stage with men from the Indian Army.
B-Town celebs appealed to the audience to make ”fitness” their lifestyle.
Suniel Shetty hailed the Indian government for taking up the initiative while adding that fitness is cheaper than illness.
Actress turned politician Gul Panag said, ”This is the time women in India should think of their fitness. We should develop fitness as our culture. A 20-minutes workout will always keep us away from deadly diseases.”
The event lasted for more than two hours.
Rajyavardhan Rathore said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a new idea of keeping India healthy.
”Every day I get to see fitness videos of people. In future, more Bollywood celebrities will join us,” said Rathore.
