At a time when star kids are foraying into Bollywood big time, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor is not far behind. The 21 year old is following in the footsteps of mom Sridevi, and making her big screen debut with Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak.
An official remake of hit Marathi film Sairat, Dhadak will introduce Janhvi in Bollywood in a big way, courtesy Karan Johar. The filmmaker-producer has taken the star kid under his wings, and going by the trailer, Janhvi is all set to make her mark in Bollywood.
With only a month left for Dhadak to hit the screens, Janhvi opened up on working in her debut film and her dreams of making it big in films.
In an exclusive interview to India Today Television’s Sushant Mehta, Janhvi talked about her baby steps into Bollywood.
When asked if she always wanted to be an actress, Janhvi said, “I don’t know if I always knew that I wanted to act but I was always inclined towards movies. It is something that I am very passionate about. Working in Dhadak feels like a dream come true. It is too good to be true.”
She added that coming from a filmi family, movies was something that she was always interested in. “In my family, it is the only that we discuss. It’s the only thing we knew. Every time we sit at home and have a conversation with one another, it is always about films. Even when we go out to spend time together, we go out to watch a movie. Holidays were always about dad’s shooting schedules or mom’s shooting schedules. We have grown up in that environment,” added Janhvi.
Janhvi’s Dhadak will hit the screens on July 20.
