‘Parmanu The Story of Pokhran’, starring John Abraham in the lead has long been in the news for its makers repeatedly postponing its release since November 2017. What followed was a full-blown battle between John’s JA Entertainment and co-producers KriArj Entertainment, with one reportedly going the legal route. However, after John took over the reigns, it was recently announced that the film would release on 4 May 2018.
“Much in line with India’s journey to becoming a nuclear power, our film’s journey to its release has also had its own ups and downs. However, it is perhaps a befitting tribute to the true heroes of our nuclear program- our army and our scientists, that Parmanu is releasing in the same month as we are celebrating 20 years of Operation Shakti- India’s nuclear test explosions in Pokhran in May 1998,” JA Entertainment’s spokesperson said in a statement.
