Whether it is your colleagues, friends, relatives or partners, nothing is more irritating than the on-going IPL fever when you are the only one around who is not consumed by the fever. And things are especially rough if you are a Bollywood lover who hates IPL because when it comes to India Bollywood and IPL clashing is no less than the clash of Titans. From no new released to being denied that small pleasures of life as far as Bollywood is concerned, here are 5 things you will relate to if you are a Bollywood fan who simply cannot stand IPL.
No Good Bollywood Releases
This is perhaps the most infuriating of all! Due to the madness that surrounds IPL, Bollywood producers are wary of releasing big movies during the IPL season. The fate of the films that had released around IPL has never been good and thus no one wants to take the risk. As a result of very few films are released during this time thus your options are to watch the same film in the theatre again or wait till the season is over!
You Would Rather Watch Lagaan
Yes, cricket is exciting but then so is Bollywood! If you have the option of blending the two together then why settle for one? A CSK v/s KKR can offer you only the thrill of cricket with maybe a few glimpses of Shah Rukh in the gallery cheering for his team and the end might just be disappointing if the team you support is defeated whereas a Lagaan can give you the thrill of cricket with the magic of cinema and it comes with an assurance that the side you are rooting which is Bhuvan will definitely win in the end. Plus you can always switch it up with Awwal Number or even Dil Bole Hadippa for that matter. The IPL matches anyway appears scripted to you.
The Radio In Cab Is A Torture
There is a little old school person in each of us that make a drive and Bollywood music on the radio make for a classic combination. Somehow the voice of Arijit Singh on the speaker makes the soul-crushing traffic somewhat bearable. But during the IPL you are denied this little pleasures of life. Every cab you take is sure to play the running commentary of IPL match and no the howling of the crowd and the continuous chatter of the commentator does not soothe your nerves rather they shred it pieced when combined the blaring and honking traffic around you.
No Good Films On TV Either
It is not just box-office that dreads a competition with IPL but the satellite TV channels tread the same waters as well. Yes, you can always turn to Netflix and Amazon Prime, but there are a few old-school souls who like to watch films on TV but here also IPL becomes the ‘raaste ka kaanta’ for you having a good time by just sitting and chilling in front of the television. Even Sooryavansham does not play that often during IPL!
Shah Rukh v/s Dhoni
This one is especially true for guys. So as a true blue Bollywood fan, you have mastered the art of impressing women in the way Bollywood has taught you how to. You know every dialogue from every film of Shah Rukh Khan and you have also mastered the art of using them while flirting and it has always worked like a charm for you. But come to IPL and suddenly instead of Shah Rukh Khan opening his arms, it is Dhoni’s helicopter shot that girls are more interested in. Our suggestion, just pretend to go with the flow because if Bollywood has taught you anything it is everything is fair in love in air!
You Can Surely Sympathize With This Guy!
